The author, John Haynes Holmes (1879-1964) was a prominent Unitarian minister and pacifist, recipient of the Gandhi Peace Award, noted for his antiwar activism. He helped found the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) in 1909 and was founder and later chair of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). White wrappers, books are in overall very good condition. Volumes were put out by year and numbers, each with their own title of the sermon's subject matter.
