Slight discoloration to parts of front endpapers. Paper pasted to inside of front board reading "with the autograph of J.D. Michaelis. Rev. John Mitford. Rev. J.A. Jerimine." With manuscript notes in beautiful longhand opposite title page by Nathan R. Williams living in New York in the 1870's. As mentioned above there are three autographs present. The one's of Rev. John Mitford and Rev. J.A. Jerimine are on the blank page preceding the manuscript notes, and John David Michaelis signature is present on title page. This is a very rare critical edition of the third century historian and biographer Antigonus of Carystus. Text in Greek and Latin in parallel columns. A tight copy in very good condition.
