He and his wife, Laura, well always excellent hosts and always sensitive to the occasion. It was under Liebert's leadership that the Beinecke library became of the finest collections in the world. The bulk of Fritz Liebert's Samuel Johnson collection, one of the finest in private hands, was gifted to the Beinecke library.
