Beautiful copy with hand-illuminated title page and headpieces. The book is signed by the illuminator under the colophon device: Illumined by Ella Stackman with a hand-drawn Roycroft logo. Body copy set in Caslon. Printed in two colors on Roycroft handmade paper with the top edge gilt. A beautiful example of American small press Arts & Crafts period printing. Spine slightly age-toned and minor soiling on front cover. Half-title page detached but present. Some browning on paper edges. Binding in overall good, interior in very good condition. About the author: Addison Irving Bacheller (September 26, 1859 – February 24, 1950) was an American journalist and writer who founded the first modern newspaper syndicate in the United States.
