by CORBETT, Elizabeth
New York: Reynal & Hitchcock, 1934. Hardcover. Fine/Fine. First edition. Fine in a lovely, fresh, just about fine dustwrapper with a short tear to one corner and a little rubbing at the top of the front panel. Mr. Underhill, a dignified attorney in his mid-to-late forties, goes off the deep end and discovers romance (what we'd call a mid-life crisis), entertaining and perplexing his family and fellow townspeople. Corbett was educated at the University of Wisconsin, but spent most of her life in New York City. She wrote several popular novels and created the beloved and recurring character Mrs. Meigs. Lovely, striking jacket art. (Inventory #: 33271)
