signed first edition Hardcover
1928 · New York
by SHENTON, Edward
New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1928. Hardcover. Fine/Very Good. First edition. Top corners a bit bumped, else about fine in an attractive, very good dustwrapper with a number of small chips. This copy nicely Inscribed by the author, presumably to someone in marketing with the publisher: "For Bill - Bigger ads Make Better authors, Better authors Make More Money, More Money Makes Plumper Publishers, Pom-de-pom pom. From Ed." Young woman marries an architect, becomes a great art connoisseur, but starts to lose her soul. Shenton was a distinguished illustrator as well, perhaps best known for his drawings for Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings' *The Yearling*. (Inventory #: 58024)
