Simpson / From Harry Truman / 12-5-66." Truman (1884-1972) served as the thirty-third President of the United States, 1945-1953. Black cloth, printed dust jackets (worn, soiled, both chipped at spine ends, volume two with a long tear in the front panel), housed in a publisher's display box advertising the set as "first published at $10.00, now the two volumes for only $5.50".
