According to Darlow-Moule this bible was prepared under the sanction of the Armenian Patriarch for the Osmanli speaking Armenians in SE Europe and Asia Minor. The translation was carried out by Khojentzi who was in the employ of the Russian government as a translator. It is printed in paragraphs in Armenian characters. There is one leaf of errata before the text (826 pp.). This is the first complete tanslation of the New Testament into Osmanli. These early bibles for Turkey appear in three different character sets ( Greek, Arabic, or Armenian ) according to the populations they were printed for; the early editions differ substantially in style and vocabulary according to the nationality of the reader.
