Fascinating work pointing out the Jewish issues presented by the United States in its dealings with foreign nations, especially with Turkey, Switzerland, Morocco, Roumania, Russia and Persia. Some age-wear on binding with upper spine rubbed with tiny abrasion. Slight soiling on covers. Endpapers and title-page slightly soiled. Binding in overall fair to good, interior in very good condition. Cyrus Adler was a leading figure in the 19th and early 20th century American Jewish community as well as an academic scholar. He served as president of Dropsie College in Philadelphia (now the University of Pennsylvania's Herbert D. Katz Center for Advanced Judaic Studies).
