A few shallow scuffs to boards, some rubbing to extremities with wear to spine ends and corners, front joint starting at ends, boards somewhat bowed, rear hinge cracked but secure, small worm hole to front free endpaper and title page. Some toning to text, light foxing to a few leaves. Early owner name to title page and fore-edge of text block, "J N E. Arruda", internally clean. Ex-library. Fragment of shelf label to spine, fragment of bookplate to front free endpaper. A solid copy of a rare title. $950. * This appears to have been a respected work. It was cited by jurists in Portugal and Brazil and reprinted in 1911. It is quite rare today, however. OCLC locates one copy in North America (at Yale Law School). Another copy located at UC-Berkeley Law School. Not in the British Museum Catalogue.
