Among the numerous subjects included are the author's memories of Nathanael West, and in particular of learning about West's death in 1940. This copy is SIGNED by Sanford on the title page, and also SIGNED by Maggie Roberts (who also added the words, beneath her signature, "Wife of John Sanford") at the bottom of the biography of Sanford in the back of the book.
