Photographs, Early Twentieth Century, America

1920. Very Good. Black cloth over boards (7” x 5.25”) with “Photographs” stamped in blind on upper board; contains 75 b/w photographs (average size is 2.5” x 3.5”). Boards rubbed; many leaves detached and laid in.

A jumble of little photographs, fit closely together on little pages, capturing three generations of a family – including babies, young couples in their best duds or lounging on the front porch, a grandma who doesn’t smile much, horses, and a dog named “Beaver.” Most of the images are taken outside, in farm fields, front yards, and back yards, with just a few taken in town. A typical family photo album, enjoyable in its own right for the characters and the time it presents – though there are very few clues regarding its subjects.
