1678. · London:
by Hobart, Sir Henry.
Folio, rebound in modern brown leather, and leather spine label, engraved frontispiece, [[xiv], 350, [2] blank, [67], + ad pp. Light wear to binding, copious notes in margins in a contemporary hand, signatures on endpapers, one signature slightly loose, but still pretty firm, mild foxing and toning; otherwise very good.Sir Henry Hobart (c. 1554-1625) was born in Norfolk and became a prominent lawyer and judge. He would become a member of Parliament, and was knighted in 1603.In 1606 he was appointed attorney-general, and a few years later he would become chief justice, as well as chancellor to Charles, prince of Wales. This work provides a list and reports on of cases handled by Hobart. This is an improved and corrected 4th edition, which we are told in the preface, was needed because of mistakes printed in what may have been an unauthorized edition, published by an "unskillful" person. This seems to be a scarce edition, with the OCLC locating only three copies. DNB. OCLC.
