Hardcover
1921 · New York
by Rinaldo, Joel. Andre Tridon, prefatory
New York: Lee Publishing Company, 1921. Hardcover. 137p., ribbed black cloth boards gilt-titled, 7.5x5 inches; full-page pen inscription by author to one Lou (or Lon) Campbell on front endpaper, quite a warm one. Damp-stain has marred casing, though it has spared and doesn't touch contents/textblock; bottom margins of both front and back covers were exposed to water, have lost sizing, and turned these margins a powdery grey. Concomitantly, casing "yawns" a little. Remains a handleable attractive item, but as is. Examines prohibitionism as a form of neurotic sexual inversion. Seems not to extend the analysis to temperance. Tridon's preface is enthusiastic, puutting Rinaldo and Freud on the same pedestal. The author googles as a very successful New York restauranteur with many fans.
