A clean and VG+ elephant folio in its maroon cloth, with bright gilt-lettering along the spine. 20 lavish color plates tipped-in on each recto; in every case the original tissue-guard protecting and keeping the plates very clean. "Twenty examples, reproduced for the first time in colour, of old carpets from Persia, India, Caucasia, Armenia, Turkey, China, Spain and England, with an introduction and descriptive notes by A.F. Kendrick, Keeper of the Department of Textiles at the Museum, and C.E.C. Tattersall" [from the titile page].
