Also with a signed inscription by Kirk Douglas to Academy Award-winning producer Brian Grazer on the front free endpaper: “For Brian Grazer, When I was a young producer like you, I bought the rights to this novel to make Lonely Are the Brave, my favorite film. Read it, you’ll like it. With thanks for Greedy. Kirk Douglas, 1994. P.S. I don’t send you the books I write, I expect you to buy them.” Mr. Douglas’s inscription refers to the film Greedy which was produced by Grazer and starred Douglas and Michael J. Fox. Kirk Douglas produced and starred in the 1962 motion picture adaptation of the novel released as Lonely Are the Brave, and the book is illustrated with photographs from the film.
