New York: Communist Party Unit of the City College, 1936. 1.p, single issue, 8.5x14 inches, folded-creased else very good. This was the newsletter of the Communists working at CCNY in the era when the school was a hotbed of NY radical activism, not only of the CP, but various Trotskyist and other Socialist groupings. The newsletter presents the communist stance on faculty and labor issues at CCNY, defends against attacks from the right and from the administration and Board of Education, and agitates for communist demonstrations and activities. This issue includes material on the Instructional Staff Association tabling a motion to send a delegate to the upcoming May 24 conference for a Labor Party, and criticizes a faculty resolution forbidding discussion of "confidential matters" which apparently extended to details like salaries, tenure, promotions, etc. (Inventory #: 165665)
