Though he died before reaching the age of 25, Bonington nevertheless was a seminal figure in the development of modernism in 19th century French painting. His works earned him honors at the Paris Academy in 1824. His influence on his friend and contemporary Eugene Delacroix and others is well known. Bound in gray cloth, spine lettering silver, a very good copy in nice color pictorial dust jacket.
