Presentation copy inscribed on the inside of front board in ink by the author dated "22 Sept: 1852." Some minor foxing, else very good. Charles Tennyson d'Eyncourt was the uncle of the great poet Alfred Lord Tennyson, who aspired write poetry, but without the talent of his nephew. He wrote this poem in memory of his youngest and favorite son who had died abroad. (Inventory #: 38540)
