It is the first national gallery that has been named after an individual as well as the second national modern art museum in addition to the National Art Museum of China in Beijing. 165pp exhibiting the works of He Xiangning (1878-1972) who was a renowned artist feminist, politician, painter, and poet. Illustrated in color and in black and white of beautiful landscapes and wild animals, several folding leaves interleaved throughout the book to give a photographic history of the artist and her family. A fine copy bound in pale beige paper wraps over heavy card stock, lettered in black and dark beige. OCLC reports only three copies all in China.
