Murdock (1841-1928) settled in San Francisco in 1864 where he became a printer with a distinguished taste in typography. He designed and printed books by Kate Douglas Wiggin and by Herman Scheffauer, as well as Gelett Burgess' The Lark. He also edited the Pacific Unitarian (1892-1928).
