The Address opposes Pennsylvania's burgeoning "aristocracy" in state government. Governor Thomas M'Kean, elected with Democratic support, has demonstrated unsound tendencies which "soon produced an amicable and intimate association" with Federalists, "his former libellers." M'Kean is "insulting you and your representatives, and becoming the real head of a faction." M'Kean's assault upon liberty and the common man's pocketbook is catalogued.
