A little known and important scientific paper. In the previous year Koch had announced his discovery of the tubercle bacillus and his work on cultivating the bacillus and producing experimental tuberculosis in animals - work for which he was to win the Nobel Prize in 1905. In the offprint offered here Koch responds to contemporary critics of this work. The critics are mostly American. Much to their regret Koch addresses each in turn highlighting the failings of their arguments or their shoddy research. The paper has a printed notice above the drop title stating it is a ' Separatabrduck ' . See G - M # 2331.
