In 1963, she was part of Bering Sea Patrol and oceanographic experiments in the Bering Strait and the Chukchi Sea. The first document in the 'Seismic Survey' folder bears the name of Rear Admiral R. D. Schmidtman, Commander of 13th Coast Guard District and the man after whom Mount Schmidtman in Antarctica was named. Other documents included are itinerary and track charts, air operations, seismic survey, etc. In the 'Oceanographic Phase' binder some of the reports cover oceanography, gunnery and readiness, search and rescue, etc.
