Die Farbenblindheit. 9 pp. Illustrated with a wool diagnostic test of 70 dyed wool samples. 8vo., 220 x 144 mm, bound in publisher's brown cloth folder incorporating wool sample chart into rear board. Berlin: P. Dörffel, [1878]. Third Edition. The author, a Norwegian ophthalmologist, was an early campaigner for mandatory vision tests for ships' pilots and railway engineers. He published this pamphlet in the wake of Holmgren's De la cécité des couleurs dans ses rapports avec les chemins de fer et la marine (1877) on colour blindness, following a fatal train collision in Sweden that had prompted major concerns about vision and public safety.
