1890 Portrait Album of the Vermont Senate -- Photographs and Autograph Cards

Original full padded morocco, "Vermont Senate 1890" stamped in gilt on front cover, with fore-edge clasp; 4to (about 9-by-11 inches); contains 40 albumen prints (each about 4.5-by-6 inches), inserted into heavy cardstock pages, with matching autograph cards inserted below. Boards and spine lightly scuffed; rear board and tail of spine chipped. A little light spotting to photographs, but overall nice and clean. Includes the portrait and autograph of Governor Carroll S. Page, the senate's president, chaplain, and doorkeeper, followed by the senators, the senate reporter, and concluding with two boys (the Senate's messengers). Awesome facial hair features prominently throughout. Perfect for an historical society -- or a crazy barber shop.
