THE WORLD BELOW, Longmans, Green & Co. 1930, first American edition, some foxing and off-setting to the end-papers and paste-downs, else a bright vg/vg+ copy in a near vg full wraparound art deco pictorial dust-wrapper with some light wear and tear and some shallow chipping, mostly to the head of the dust-wrapper spine and some clear tape reinforcement to small areas of the verso of the dust-wrapper. Quite uncommon in dust-wrapper. This edition has a 2 page preface not printed in the bit earlier British publication as well as the first appearance in print in the U.S. of it's prequel, THE AMPHIBIANS. A most interesting tale perhaps best compared to Lindsay's A VOYAGE TO ARCTURUS.
