A series of six General Orders from the Adjutant General's Office (L. Thomas), concerning the treatment of prisoners. The first orders relates to the process of handling and treatment of prisoners of war, including appropriate documentation on transfers to prison depots. The final order (191) includes a list of prisoners of war (Union soldiers) exchanged with Southern soldiers on November 11, 1862 at Aiken's Landing. (Inventory #: 102059)
