The letter laments the Vigil's isolation from the broader peace movement and invites volunteers to drop by from time to time. Anti-war demonstrators had been maintaining the vigil at the Port Chicago Naval Weapons Station, some 40 miles from San Francisco, for nearly a year. (Inventory #: 179173)
