It would appear these claims were coordinated with the Soldiers Friend organization. The organizers in Iowa were leading citiziens in Burlington, Iowa. George Sweny was a major real estate invester and John L. Waite was a leading journalist in the city. No copies found in OCLC, Among those given for personal reference was Gen. Fitz Henry Warren raised the 1st Regiment of Iowa Volunteer Cavalry and had a command in Missouri under General Samuel R. Curtis. Also both Iowa Senators are sponsors.
