New York: Author, 1875. Very Good. Very Good Broadsheet, measuring 9 1/2" x 6" from Office of Dr. T.F. Burt, No. 69, William Street, New York. Dated in his hand January 4, 1875. He follows up on a consumptive patient, D.H. Cooper, of New Frankfort, Maine asking him if he is still not too far advanced with the disease. If so, he will send him four boxes of Liebig's Life Cure for Consumption for $10.00. [Dr. Burt also advertised his "positive cure" for consumption in the Yale Literary Advertiser in the same year) It was just seven years later that Dr. Koch discovered the cause of consumption and in 1890 developed a successful immunization to prevent the disease (although other quacks continued to promote cures into the late 1890's).
