Antwerp: Henricus Hondius, 1629. Engraving. Image measures 8.5 x 6.5". This handsome portrait is of the famed German painter and engraver Albrecht Durer. Drawn after a painting by Tommaso di Andrea Vincidor, an Italian Renaissance painter and architect who trained with Raphael, the portrait shows Durer wearing a fur-trimmed coat and cap and looking pensively off to his left. Below the oval portrait is a trompe-l'oeil banner nailed to the wall that bears the title and description of the image. The print is a dark impression in excellent condition with no chips or tears. Andries Jacobsz Stock (1580--1648) was a Baroque engraver, printmaker and illustrator (truncated)
