Signed by author in volume I.John Drinkwater was a British poet, playwright, and critic in the early 1900s. He was a supporter and promoter of repertory theater in England and in 1907 he became the producer the Pilgrim Players (chiefly presenting verse drama) which would eventually develop into the Birmingham Repertory Theatre Company.
