Pictorial glimpses of the various landscapes, cities (Brest-Litowsk, Kowel, Wladimir-Wolynsk) and people of Volhynia (Ruthenians, Jews) as well as soldiers' lives during Germany's occupation of Ukraine in World War I. The German soldiers are seen in trenches, harvesting potatoes, building a bridge on the Bug, enjoying the Pentecost 1917 festivities, etc. Includes three pages with Jewish images.
