Chicago: Playboy Press. Near Fine in Very Good dj. (c.1978). First Edition. Hardcover. 0872235025 . [spine slightly turned, previous owner's florid signature and date/place of purchase on ffep, no other significant wear; jacket has a few small edge-tears, all repaired with small pieces of tape, with additional tape reinforcement provided at the spine ends]. "A Naughty & Notorious Story of the Roaring Twenties," somewhat of a novelized version of the romantic exploits of Gloria Morgan Vanderbilt. A resonably uncommon book that might be of little note except for the fact that its author was himself a member of one of New York's elite families, which (per the jacket blurb) gave him "firsthand access to the history which he used in writing this book." (In fact, it might be of little note anyway.) The author subsquently wrote a book about another American socialite/heiress, Barbara Hutton (who he hung around with for a time in the 1950s), and a memoir entitled "Rich Was Better." .
