In his foreword Robert Adams briefly sketches the history of Denver from its founding in 1861, Walt Whitman's remarks of affection in 1882, Jack Kerouac's in 1957, and the startling period of growth in the 1960s and 70s when Colorado's oil, military, and tourist industries prospered. Extraordinary collection of b/w photographs of suburban Denver. Text in English and German. Very small coffee stain on fore edge. DJ with minor wear along edges.
