Funding problems in 1893: Our Museum of the German Book Industry (which is not just some local Leipzig concern!) is such a success that it has outgrown its support, despite assistance from the government of Saxony, the Börsenverein der dt. Buchhändler, et al. Please a)join our organization, b)send money, or c)donate "suitable objects" for the Museum. A brief sketch of the history of books in manuscript and print to 1800 follows, with references to the museum collection and hints for would-be donors. This is followed by a section on the graphic arts in the current (i.e. 19th) century, and a list of donors. Covers soiled, chipped, detached. The binding is failing and the book is dissociating into individual gatherings.
