Milano: Francesco Brioschi Editore, 2007. First edition. Hardcover. vg. Quarto. 42pp (text), [97] leaves (plates). Original photo-illustrated dust-jacket over decorative paper covered boards. Since 2006, Italian photographer Alessandro Belgiojoso's work has focused on the concept of boundary and the urge to overstep its limits, exploring socio-cultural comparisons and the ongoing dialogue between different cultures and geo-political meanings. In 2007 at Forma Foto, Milan, he exhibited a body of work taken in North and South Korea, and presented his book "Corea, un viaggio impossibile?" (Korea, an Impossible Journey?). Thanks to the support of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this project managed to cross the otherwise impenetrable border between the two Koreas, and involved exhibitions and presentations of the book in Pyongyang (North Korea), Incheon and Daegu (South Korea). Illustrated with 97 striking color photographs, this book illustrates the reality of contemporary Korea, the last remnant of the world's division into two antagonistic blocs. Upper margin of dust-jacket slightly creased. Text in Italian. DJ in overall good+, binding and interior in very good condition.
