Charlotte Mary Yonge (1823 – 1901) was a prolific British author, writing more than 150 novels during her career, and a favorite writer to Lewis Carroll, George Eliot, and Lord Tennyson among others. She was also known for donating large portions of her earnings to funding charitable endeavors. Her current work was a historical novel set in 16th-century France during the peak of the Hugenots' persecutions.
