Varennius (d. 1536) was a Belgian scholar and author of two very popular Greek texts: a syntax (1532) and the present booklet on accentuation and prosody (first published posthumously in 1542). They were both reissued continually well into the 17th century. To the present edition has been added the brief tract on Greek dialects by the Hellenist Adrien Amerot (d. 1560). (Inventory #: 5540)
