[Stanford White] to [Marie] Anais [Casey], believed to have been romantically involved with by his biographer, Aline B. Saarinen. White's handwritten letter in ink reads, "My dear dear Anais what do you mean? You know my services are always at your disposal but in such a case as this I should feel very badly indeed if you did not consider what I have done for you as a labor of love & I am sure that at least in this case you can & will so accept it. To have pleased you - is all the reason I care or wish for. ever yours Stanford White.
