One or two issues with covers separating from staples.. Vols. 1-4: 42 separate booklets in tan library pamphlet file box. Vols. 5-6: bound together in blue library buckram with gold spine lettering. Vols. 7-9: 24 separate booklets in green card file box, open on one side. Vols. 10-11 bound identically to vols. 5-6. Each booklet is numbered consecutively, beginning with Vol. 1, No. 1, and each has approv. 30-40 pp. with appropriate supporting illustrations. A series of booklets published by the Ciba Pharmaceutical Company. Each issue centered on a specific issue: hygiene, blood circulation, genetics, indigenous medicine, pharmaceutical chemistry, viruses, colonial medicine, etc. The topics seem endless! All are papers presented as part of the proceedings of the Ciba Foundation Symposia, now the Novartis Foundation Symposia, in which groups of leading scientists from biology, chemistry and medicine meet to present papers and discuss results.
