The exhibition stems from the work Younger did on her PhD dissertation, "Paintings and Graphic Images of Industry in Nineteenth Century Pittsburgh: A Study of the Relationship Betwen Art and Industry." The dissertation provides extensive and more in-depth material about the subject that complements the exhibition catalogue essay.
