Printed lists of stock items, some with price lists, appear on the first 38 pp., including silk, velvet, trimming, and bonnet ribbons, silks and velvets in various colors, crapes, flowers, bonnet frames and Shaker hoods (both colored and white). Some pencil price calculations on the first few pages. The remaining pages are printed with headers, "Millinery Goods," "Dry Goods," "Notions," etc., with the rest of the lined page left for notes. A previous owner has used some of these pages for grocery lists, and general accounting, a few pages have apparently been torn out for this purpose [pp.61-2, and at least two leaves following p. 64 are lacking]. Thomas Armstrong founded the business in 1817, Robinson W. Cator joined him in 1847. (Inventory #: 59822)
