A la Haye: Chez Pierre De Hondt, 1759 First published in 1740, this is an imitation of Marivaux's Vie de Marianne (1731-41), which was considered a great advancement in the novel form and influenced Rousseau, Restif de la Bretonne and Fielding. The author is Claude-François Lambert (1705-65), who published miscellaneous works, including an imitation of Abbé Prevost's Mémoires et avantures d'un homme de qualité, which he called Memoires et avantures d'une dame de qualité (1739). A very good, clean copy. This edition is unknown to OCLC, which lists only the 1740 and 1772 editions.
