by [ARNAULD, Antoine, and Noel de la Lane, abbe de Valcroissant]
[n.p.:] 1764 [Bound with:] [NICOLE, Pierre]. Les pernicieuses consequences de la nouvelle heresie des jesuites contre le Roy & contre l'Estat. Par un Advocat en Parlement. Seconde edition. [n.p.: n.d]. Quarto. 47 pp. This is a curious work. It is undated, and there is no indication of publisher or place, but it is labeled "second edition." The first edition must have been published before 1666, when an English edition translated by John Evelyn appeared. The only edition listed by OCLC is dated 1687 and was published in Lille; that edition is held only by Duke University and the University of Wales. This work is sometimes attributed to Antoine Arnauld and Pierre Nicole. [and:] [WEIDNER, Johann Leonhard]. Quarto. 67 pp. Dedicated to the Archbishop of Canterbury, William Laud, who was convicted of treason and beheaded in 1645. This is a puzzling work. OCLC lists a longer work (448 pp.) of the same name, and locates copies at Harvard and Loyola Chicago (Backer-Sommervogel,; vol. 11, col. 70, no. 518). [and:] CLEMENT VIII.
