Galusha Pennypacker (1844-1916) was a Union general during the War Between the States. He is to this day the youngest person to hold the rank of brigadier general in the U.S.Army and the only general too young to vote for the president who appointed him (or anybody else, for that matter.) Only the Marquis de LaFayette was younger (at age 19) when he became Major General in the Continental Army.
