Original Art: "De Ox and De Frog
- Stiff card
- n.p.: n.p., 1920
The Tale of the Ox and the Frog appears in AEsop, also in La Fontaine and possibly in Uncle Ned's Old Tales Retold. It describes a mother frog inflating herself to the point of bursting (and in some versions beyond that point) as she imitates the size of an ox. And indeed in Kemble's sketch we se a large chested female frog standing over a mushroom table addressing two frog-children.
Cropped closely on the sides just touching the image else this is in very nice condition.
