Adam Jerzy Poltawski (1881 - 1952) was a Polish graphic artist, printer, illustrator and type designer. He ran his own printing shop and designed many of the most popular fonts, widely used by Polish printing houses in the first half of the 20th century. He was the creator of the first, truly original, Polish typeface - Antykwa Poltawskiego - in 1928. It was initially cast in 1931 at the Idzkowski foundry in Warsaw and it would also be cast for hot setting by the Monotype Corporation, being the only Polish export typeface.
