New York: Beginner Books by Random House, 1960. Later Printing. Near fine in illustrated paper covered boards with black text on the spine. An octavo measuring 9 by 6 inches with the spine area faded from orange to a light yellow. There are also two, small faint stamp marks in the upper right corner of the first free end page; one shows the letter S surrounded by a circle and the second showing 51B2. In a near fine, price clipped dust jacket with fading to the spine area around the fold to the front panel to a depth of 1 1/4 inch and across the upper 1 1/8 inch of the front panel. This fading has caused the orange colored jacket to appear off white in the faded areas. The jacket is a later state as the words "only 50 Different Words" is printed on the front flap of the jacket and with 25 other titles by Dr. Seuss listed on the rear flap instead of the rear panel. 62 pages of text and color illustrations.
